What are Prostate cancers?
Prostate cancer is a deadly disease found in men. Just as breast cancer occurs only in women, so does the prostate gland in men. The risk of prostate cancer is higher in men who are over the age of 50. The prostate gland is shaped like a walnut, which produces semen and transports sperm. Prostate cancer grows slowly and initially remains in the prostate gland without causing any serious damage. If prostate cancer is diagnosed and treated early, then a person can save himself from the complex problem of cancer.
Types of Prostate Cancer?
There can be one of the following types of prostate cancer that start cancer especially in the cells.
Acinar adenocarcinoma – This type of cancer begins to form cells in the prostate gland of a man. It is considered common in cancer, which is seen more in men.
Transitional cell cancer – In this type of cancer, cancer cells begin to form in the urinary tube that carries it out of the body and the cancer spreads to the prostate, starting with bladder cancer.
Ductal adenocarcinoma – In this type, cells form in the glandular tube of the male. However, it spreads more quickly than other cancers.
Small Cell Prostate Cancer – In this type of cancer, small cells start to form.
Squamous cell cancer – In this type, cancer forms a flat cell that surrounds the prostate.
Because of prostate cancer?
No exact cause of prostate cancer is yet known. According to the doctor, when there is an abnormality in the cells, prostate cancer starts. When there are more abnormal cells, they start growing more than normal cells. This abnormal cell survives to form a tumor. Apart from this, tumors start attacking other cells and tissues. Some tumors make other organs vulnerable to cancer.
Risk factors for prostate cancer include:
Older age – The risk of prostate cancer remains high, usually over the age of 50.
Genetic problems – If a man's family has had prostate cancer or other cancers in the past, then there may be an increased risk of prostate cancer.
Obesity – According to the doctor, the risk of prostate cancer is higher in people who are extremely obese.
Symptoms of prostate cancer?
Symptoms of prostate cancer can vary from person to person. Apart from this, some people do not even have symptoms, although the following symptoms of prostate cancer can be seen in men.
- For example, blood in urine.
- Difficulty urinating
- Semen in urine
- Frequent urination at night.
- Burning in urination.
- aching back.
- Pain in the hip
- Difficulty emptying the bladder completely.
- obstruction of urine flow.
- Pain in ejaculation.
Prostate Cancer Testing ?
Prostate cancer tests can be done based on the health status of the patient. First of all, general tests are done in which the patient is asked about the disease history and cause. Apart from this, do some other investigations.
Digital rectal test – This is the most common test to check for prostate. The prostate is an internal organ that cannot be seen directly. In such a situation, the doctor examines by inserting a finger in the rectum to see if a lump has formed.
Prostate Specific Antigen – PSA is tested by a blood test to check for a protein made in the prostate.
Prostate Biopsy – In the test of prostate biopsy, a sample is removed from the prostate gland for accurate examination. If the person has been biopsied, he is given a Gleason score. This shows at what stage the prostate cancer is.
Other tests – The doctor may recommend CT scan, MRI to do other tests.
Prostate cancer treatment?
Prostate cancer can be treated in several ways. However, the doctor chooses the treatment based on the stage and type of cancer. As with how fast your cancer is growing, whether it has spread and your overall health, there may be potential benefits or side effects of treatment.
Active Surveillance – There are many cases in which prostate cancer grows slowly rather than rapidly. In this case, the person needs to be diagnosed. To diagnose the cancer, the prostate specific antigen is closely monitored through digital rectal tests so that the cancer can be detected and treated.
Surgery – If the cancer has not spread outside the prostate gland, doctors may perform a radical prostatectomy, in which the surgeon removes the entire prostate gland and surrounding tissue simultaneously. In addition to the laparoscopic approach, the robotic approach can reduce the patient's problem.
Radiation therapy – Radiation therapy is used to destroy cancer cells. High energy X-rays are used to destroy gamma rays or particles. Radiation is done in two ways which include internal radiation and external radiation.
Hormone therapy – In this, the hormones that help cancer cells to grow are blocked until they reach the cancer cells.
Chemotherapy – In this, drugs are given intravenously or orally to kill cancer cells and reduce the size of the tumor. This is because it is finding increasing use in prostate cancer, especially in higher grades.
Vaccination – boosting the body's immune system to attack prostate cancer cells
